Celebrating 10 Years of LIFT Scholarship at CABE

The LIFT scholarship program celebrated a significant milestone as it marked its 10-year anniversary. Established in 2012, the program has granted 137 scholarships to CABE graduates to pursue post-secondary education and has provided over $230,000 in scholarship funds. 

The celebration took place at CABE Secondary at their 2023 Graduation Brunch, where CABE alumni congratulated the graduating class and inspired them to pursue post-secondary education through the LIFT scholarship. Past recipients of the LIFT scholarship program shared their stories and experiences, highlighting the positive impact the program has had on their lives. Emily Perri, a CABE alumni and previous LIFT scholarship recipient said “I’m getting my bachelor’s, it’s been amazing. I don’t think I’d be able to get to where I am today without CABE and without the scholarship.” 

Speaking at the event was Kevin Layden, CEO of Wesbild, said, “I’m inspired by the stories and what some of the students are up against and how they persevere and then graduate, go into post-secondary and really start to fulfil their education dreams.” 

As the LIFT Scholarship program enters its second decade, Wesbild will remain committed to making post-secondary education accessible to the students at CABE Secondary.
