Coquitlam City Council has unanimously granted final approval to the rezoning for a significant new townhouse development on Burke Mountain, paving the way for almost 300 much‑needed ground‑oriented homes at the 3600 block of Crouch Avenue. This milestone delivers on regional housing priorities and supports the broader vision for a complete, connected community on Burke Mountain.

The approval allows for the creation of four distinct townhome communities, bringing diversified housing options for end users and families that aligns with the natural landscape and evolving neighbourhood fabric. This rezoning supports the long‑term planning efforts set out through the Northeast Coquitlam Area Plan and the Patington Creek Neighborhood, frameworks that guide sustainable, family‑friendly growth and balances new housing with environmental and amenity outcomes.

“This is a huge achievement for us,” said Lilian Arishenkoff, Senior Vice President at Wesbild. “It’s taken more than three years to secure rezoning for this significant development. The process involved close collaboration with the Province, municipal staff, First Nations partners, and environmental consultants to ensure protection of sensitive waterways and rigorous compliance with updated provincial legislation. With the dedication of our team and partners, we now have four lots ready to evolve into thriving townhome communities that add essential low‑density, ground‑oriented housing on Burke Mountain.”
