ECO-FRIENDLY RESORT PRACTICES AT PREDATOR RIDGE
At Predator Ridge Resort, a Wesbild-owned resort and development, we believe that eco-friendly green initiatives should be on the forefront of our mission. Whether it is promoting the use of natural and local products, reducing greenhouse gases or minimizing our consumption of water usage, it’s our duty to provide resort guests with enjoyable experiences, superb service, and premium accommodations without sacrifices to the sensitive natural areas around us.
Predator Ridge has partnered with various sustainability programs in order to reduce our environmental impact and have a meaningful influence on the community. Below are some of the many ways we are working to partner with the planet on an ongoing basis.
REDUCING PLASTIC WASTE
Predator Ridge golf courses are now “water bottle free”. Predator Ridge has implemented ECO water coolers and biodegradable cups offering golfers filtered water before and during their round. In the first year alone, we eliminated the use of over 83,000 500ml water bottles.
BRINGING NATURE TO OUR RESORT
GREEN TOURISM CERTIFIED
Predator Ridge is proud to be a part of the world’s largest sustainable tourism certification program. We are awaiting grading on our Green Tourism certification, which is in process via an independent third party assessment.
COMPOSTING
Predator Ridge has a composting food program at each of our food & beverage outlets. In partnership with Spa Hills Composting—our food & beverage departments compostable waste is diverted away from landfills.
CLEAN THE WORLD
Predator Ridge is proud to be a part of the Clean the World movement; a program geared at collecting and recycling soap and hygiene products discarded every day by the hospitality industry. Through the distribution of these and other donated products to impoverished people, Clean the World helps prevent millions of hygiene-related deaths each year, reduce the morbidity rate for hygiene-related illnesses, and encourages vigorous childhood development.
GREEN AMENITY HOTEL PRODUCTS
As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, Predator Ridge provides Lavish luxury guest amenity products in all rooms. Lavish by Eco Sciences products are made from 100% paraben-free formulas that protect the water and waste stream, soaps that use a pure vegetable base, all using 100% biodegradable packaging.
Sustainably Produced LOCAL FOOD
The ingredients on all Predator Ridge menus is locally and responsibly sourced. We work with local farmers and partners to bring 100-mile diet experiences to life at Predator Ridge.
ADOPT A HIGHWAY
The Adopt a Highway program offers organizations and volunteer groups the opportunity to contribute to their community and province. Groups “adopt” a section of provincial highway to carry out or sponsor activities such as landscape beautification, litter pickup and identifying and reporting invasive plant species. Predator Ridge is responsible for Commonage Road from the Bailey/Commonage intersection up to Predator Ridge. Both homeowners and Predator staff participate in our cleanup events.
ENERGY EFFICIENT NEW HOMES
EnerGuide ratings have been a standard with every Predator Ridge new home for several years. To further improve energy efficiency, Geothermal infrastructure was included in every lot and home in our Whitetail neighbourhood and is available in all new home builds.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING
Predator Ridge features Tesla Level 2 Charging Stations, Porsche Destination Charging and one general EV (electric vehicle) charging station.
