On March 2nd, the Wesbild team attended the 2024 SHARE Imagine Gala, which was proudly presented by Wesbild for the 14th consecutive year. In fact, Wesbild has had the honour of being the presenting sponsor since its origin as the ‘Just Desserts’ fundraiser in the early 2010s. It is always an honour for the team to attend the annual gala as its presenting sponsor, but we were even more proud to be a part of the evening this year where a record-breaking $292k was fundraised!Â
This year, the theme was “No Place Like Home” from the Wizard of Oz story, a unique phrase that captures the sense of comfort, safety, and belonging one feels when they are home. Not only does it refer to a person’s dwelling, but it can be applied to a wider community as well. “No Place Like Home” perfectly encapsulating the impact of SHARE’s work. From the food bank, to English language learning courses, financial literacy courses, and housing programs, SHARE’s mission is to foster the sense of comfort, safety, and belonging for everyone residing in the TriCity.
Thank you to the SHARE team for a wonderful event. It was a terrific evening for Wesbild, SHARE, and clients who depend on quality community social services. As we enter into our 20th year partnering with SHARE, our vision of paving the yellow brick road for the community is stronger than ever.
