Wesbild submitted its rezoning application to the City of Port Coquitlam for a six tower, nearly 2,000 home master-planned development on transit this week. The project would be the City’s first transit-oriented, high rise development and will contribute a significant amount of new housing to the area, including condo, rental, and non-market affordable.
The plan would transform the existing suburban Poco Place shopping centre into a complete, 8.4 acre community with 80,000 square feet of retail, a new 8,000 square foot childcare facility, 3.3 acres of outdoor amenity space for residents including a 400 metre wellness loop, clubhouse amenities and the preservation of the existing seven storey office building. Located on the corner of Lougheed Highway and Westwood Street, Poco Place will unfold in four phases over several years, and offer easy access to multiple rapid transit hubs, nearby community centres, parks, schools and additional retail centres.

Phase 1 will include one rental and one condo tower at 37 and 35 storeys respectively. It will also include new commercial space including a grocery store. Phase 2 will include a 45 storey market rental and non-market rental tower, childcare facility, and additional commercial space. Phase 3 will include one 33-storey rental tower and one 31 storey condo tower, with additional commercial space. Phase 4 will be a 31-storey condo tower with city homes at grade.
Should the proposal be approved, phase 1 construction is expected to start in 2027.
